Horse Racing Tips – Chester – Sunday

Our Horse Racing expert has two picks for Chester’s Sunday meeting.

There is always a huge crowd for Chester’s Sunday fixture and the highlight is a listed sprint over 6f in which a veteran bids for a for a fourth course win.

Chester 3.00:Kimberella

You don’t get many 8yo’s in training rated above 100 but Kimberella falls into that category and this level of race suits perfectly as exemplified by his win in this contest twelve months ago.

He has an excellent record on turning tracks, none more so than here where he has won three times in total. As always here a low draw helps and stall two will be a big advantage. That was his undoing here last time when he was always held far too wide to be competitive.

On his inside is Major Jumbo a perennial front-runner, so the tactics ought to be obvious in that Paul Hanagan can just tuck in behind and that aim to pounce on the home turn.

Chester 4.40: Kaeso

Nigel Tinkler’s team are in an incredible run of form in recent weeks and notched a Newmarket double yesterday. The progressive Kaeso can maintain that great run this afternoon.

He won four in a row over 6f last term, but I think that was simply because he was so well handicapped. A win over 7f at Yarmouth in May signalled he was still on the up and his second at York on his first try at a mile in June suggested he could go even further at that distance.

He was probably given too much to do that day in an effort to ensure he lasted home and he can be a bit keen so was dropped in. Given a guaranteed fast pace from Dragons Tail and/or Club Wexford, he should settle no problem today and you can ignore his last run at York when the ground was too soft. He will be better on this sounder surface today.

Recommended bets:

1pt win – Kimberella – 3.00 Chester – 11/4 general

1pt win – Kaeso – 4.40 Chester – 4/1 general
